The Maztech X4-FCS (Fire Control System) pairs with the shooter’s 30 mm low power variable optic (LPVO) and works as a mount that provides real-time ballistic calculations for first-shot impacts on target, even out to the maximum effective range of the ammunition. The X4-FCS uses data points such as temperature, pressure, humidity, pitch, roll, and heading that are all paired with the ballistic solver and ballistics library thanks to its use of the Applied Ballistics® software and database. By combining these parameters with user-supplied bullet and firearm data, the X4-FCS creates a precise, ballistic-compensated offset aiming point that acts as the shooter’s aimpoint through the LPVO.
All X4-FCS information is projected in clear, bright green text that’s even visible when backlit by full sunlight, and the various information is fully customizable by the shooter. The X4-FCS unit is durable, thanks to its 7075-T6 billet aluminum construction, which is finished in a Type III hard anodized black finish for durability. The unit mounts on a standard Picatinny rail and weighs 22.6 oz with the two included rechargeable, USB-C 18650 batteries installed. The batteries yield one year of life when operating at a rate of ten hours per week thanks to its activated wake technology. The X4-FCS is also waterproof to three (3) feet of submersion for 30 minutes and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40° F to 140° F.
The X4-FCS can be mounted to virtually all 30 mm LPVOs (scopes), regardless of whether the scope has a first- or second-focal plane reticle (click the Resources tab for LPVO size and fit guidance.) To setup the X4-FCS, simply zero the mounted scope, then align the X4-FCS display to overlay on top of the scope’s reticle. Because the aiming point of the X4-FCS complements the existing reticle, if the batteries die, the scope is still perfectly useable. As many as 30 different ballistic profiles can be saved by the X4-FCS, meaning it can easily accommodate multiple ammunition types and weapons. Optionally, pair the X4-FCS to the Maztech Companion App on your smartphone for quick weapon and ammo setup leveraging the Applied Ballistics online database.
